Cooma Water Treatment Plant

Nov 20, 2015

Extending the life cycle of aged concrete infrastructure is becoming more and more important in our society. For all the right reasons, quick fixes are out the door and remediation measures which undertake a more holistic view to a structure, and a community’s needs are in. Asset owners are looking for long term, innovative yet proven technologies to ensure they receive the best possible return on any investment into remediation and the new construction of their valuable infrastructure.

EXPERTS IN CONCRETE

With a real understanding of the modes of deterioration in concrete, C.E. Construction Solutions strives to find solutions which align themselves with the functioning requirements of your asset, its future life-cycle expectations, your stakeholders’ future needs, durability and sustainability.

One such project involved the relining of Cooma WTP in New South Wales. Loss of surface and loss of cover over reinforcement from both age, mechanical and chemical erosion had reached a point where concerns were raised over the ability of the structure to meet its expected, and needed, life-cycle requirements.

SELECTING THE BEST SOLUTION

C.E. Construction Solutions worked with numerous stakeholders in executing two stages of structural remediation to this vital piece of the community’s infrastructure. The relining of this asset was undertaken using a fibre reinforced patching and resurfacing material. This technology was recommended and selected not only for its superior bond, low shrinkage, chemical durability and high strength, but also for the tight project timeline restraints in returning this asset to fulfill its requirements in the local community.
